We’re updating our home, silo, and barn, one project at a time — bringing new life to old spaces with hopeful hearts, helping hands, and a whole lot of learning along the way.
Big dreams. Small toolbelt.
When we moved to Greyberry Farm, we didn’t just inherit a house — we inherited a hundred stories and a whole lot of projects. The farmhouse had good bones, creaky floors, and endless potential… and we were ready to roll up our sleeves.
We’re not professionals. We’re just a family with YouTube tutorials, borrowed tools, and a can-do attitude. From patching drywall to painting trim and updating fixtures, we’re learning as we go — sometimes with grace, sometimes with trial and error, always with heart.
This page will soon be home to all of it:
✓ What we’ve tackled so far
✓ What we’re planning next
✓ The tools, finishes, and favorite finds we’ve discovered along the way
For now, consider this your official welcome to our never-quite-finished fixer-upper — built with coffee, courage, and the occasional crooked nail.
Have a question? Just want to say hi? We love hearing from kind folks near and far. Drop us a note below and we’ll get back to you as soon as the chores are done.
We get a handful of questions now and then — about the farm, the animals, what we’re growing, and how this whole dream came to life. So we put together a few answers here, just in case you’re curious too. If you don’t see what you’re wondering about, feel free to reach out — we’re always happy to chat.
We’re tackling a little bit of everything — from painting the exterior to refreshing the kitchen, bathrooms, and basement. We’re refinishing the original wood floors (they’re creaky and charming), bringing new life to the back deck, and adding personal touches to make this old house feel like home.
Mostly, yes! We’re big believers in YouTube tutorials, trial and error, and the power of a willing spirit. We’re not professionals — just a handy family learning as we go, and having a lot of fun (and a few bandaids) along the way.
Sanding the wood floors felt like taming a wild beast. And painting trim with kids around? Let’s just say the dog had white ears for a day or two.
Reimagining the walkout basement has been a dream! Turning it into a cozy family space where muddy boots, movie nights, and morning coffee can all coexist — that’s our kind of progress.
We’re going for timeless, practical, and farmhouse-simple. Think soft, natural colors, cozy textures, and materials that age well and clean up easily. We’re not chasing trends — just trying to make something meaningful and beautiful for our family.
Absolutely! This section will eventually grow into a resource full of links, tips, tools, and lessons learned the hard way. We’re documenting it all — the good, the gritty, and the surprisingly helpful gadgets we never knew we needed.
One project at a time… and with a lot of coffee. We’re learning to celebrate the small wins and laugh through the messes. It’s not always smooth, but it’s always worth it.
